Hot Springs Road

Projected Timeline:  5/6/23 - 5/30/23

The Alpine Fire Safe Council, through a CalFire Fire Protection Grant, has begun a long-awaited and much needed fuels reduction project on Hot Springs Road.  This project is encompassed entirely on private property, and the entire project area is posted.  The project implementation/treatment is all completed by heavy logging machinery, which presents an extreme danger for anyone entering the project area.  Wood chips from this machinery can travel up to 300 feet as projectiles in all directions.  Due to the size of the equipment and visual angles during operation, the machine operators may not be aware of other individuals in the project area.  Thus, the AFSC cautions the following:  "The entire project area is private property, and the work presents extremely hazardous conditions.  You are asked not to enter the project area at any time."  As stated above, the entire project area is posted and marked clearly.  The AFSC and the property owners request all individuals to respect the private property within the project area.  Please do not walk or hike through the posted project area, or travel through it for sightseeing.  Also, please do not attempt to harvest/gather the cut timber for personal use.       No firewood is available from this project.

The AFSC thanks you for your patience and compliance while this project is being completed.

Thank you.
