greens waste voucher program

Program Overview

The Alpine Fire Safe Council offers to residents of Eastern Alpine County FREE vouchers, for the disposal of individual property owner greens waste.  These vouchers are offered after the Alpine County Burn/biomass pile has closed bi-seasonally, to assist resident property owners with the continued disposal of accumulations of GREENS waste.

The Douglas Greens waste transfer station is on Pine Nut Road in Gardnerville and open Tues thru Sat, excluding National Holidays.

This Voucher is a courtesy service first by Douglas Disposal and secondarily by AFSC.  We would hope that Alpine County residents use these vouchers to continue cleaning up year round to protect home and property from Wildland fire.  AFSC requests each applicant to make good and prudent use of these vouchers by adhering to the rules and policies, so that this valuable asset to Alpine County residents can be continued.

Greens Waste Voucher Program Rules:

  • Original Issued by AFSC only no carbon copies or facsimiles
  • Distribution when Alpine County burn pile is closed for the season
  • Max load: pick up truck & trailer
  • Greens waste only, natural forest vegetation, yard greens
  • No construction debris or trash
  • No tires or automotive debris/parts/fluids
  • No tree stumps
  • No Trees or branches larger in diameter than 4”

If a resident has been determined to have violated these rules, no further vouchers will be provided to that resident.
